Behind every successful man is a woman whatever is a well known quote.
But each one us is at least one supporter. Once upon a time it was the woman who nurtured the home, and rendered support to her spouse to go win the world. But the scenario now is vary variant. We have all kinds of support.
The support from people helps us to handle our obligations or pursue our dreams. In some people who help us through the challenge of life by offering us help and bolstering our spirit.
The support system could be anything, family, friend, hired help, gardeners, healers, therapists or adviors. Our supporters may be the mentors who listen to us and help us by sharing our thoughts and feeling.
They need not be present with us all the while, they can even be a voice from the past. We have always had supporters around us whether we notice them or not.
As we take time to acknowledge every we cannot help but feel grateful. Understanding our place in our human support helps us as there are people that support us we are a supporter to many people, we consciously and more easily build a life that we love. by gratefully accepting the expertise and assistance of our supporters we consciously build a life that we

poetry as meditation

When see poets i feel humbled to me its also a form of meditation.
Sculpting that poem could take you on a journey where your conscious mind is momentarily cast adrift.
All creativity is form of divinity particularly if they are vehicles of self expression, from splashing of colours on a canvas, to singing high notes can be catharsis. Dancing can vent out all those emotions from you. Just that way sculpting thoughts into poetry would mean a journey into the inner universe.
Creativity demands that we stay fully present in the process than focusing on the outcome. Just the way meditation does. One needs to shed ones inhibition. when creativity is a form of self expression then we are able to see reflections of selves in it in poetry this is more tangible.
If your curiosity would like you to experiment with this then
• Set aside 20mnts to be alone in a quiet place
• You may want to look at poetry written by others or you may like to venture into your own path.
• The poem actually gets revealed to you the way it wants to emerge.
• Just pen it, to hell with grammar, spelling and logic focus on descriptions, visual precision, rhythm and lyric.
Somewhere along the way you will uncover repressed feelings within you. Appreciate your work and release the emotions.
The best thing about this form of meditation is that it lets you relax, take the environment in. it sensitizes you to nature. Your soul gets release from the oppression of emotional stress and you are free to face your deepest yearnings.

Sound of Music.

Rain drops and roses and whiskers and kittens.

My favorite movie

Sound of music all the way.

The characters, the music, the production. is something so nice about it. Julie Andrews is of course a class apart as an actress added to it this was the empathy of the audience for the story was authenticated allegedly by the real Maria playing a guest in the movie.

Every song was a chart buster.

The movie if i am not mistaken is as old as me a 1965 production. It was remade in Hindi as Parichay.

Holiday Traditions

Holidays are fixed sometimes by the constitution and sometimes by cultural traditions when routine work is suspended. Traditions are customs and stories handed down from generation to generation.

As a child the greatest of holiday tradition was the one that arrived bang on the middle of rains, the birth of Lord Krishna celebrated in my part of the world in great aplomb. We have 5 traditional sweets made with one salty snack. People would dress up in weird costumes and turn up at the doors. There would be dancers dancing the tiger dance or the unexplainable dance from the movies.

All the performers would meet at the temple square on the last day of festivity where the chief monk would gift them money, honour the best troupe.

Every ethnic tradition has its own holidays and traditions do’s for it.

My community the major one is the one for the festival of lights or deepavali. For me the rush begins about a week in advance (fortunately it does not dawn on me until the actual festival is on.) where there is frenzied cleaning done.

Its like a treasure hunt for lamps and lanterns. The festival begins with cleaning of the water storage resources and honouring them, that evening one single dish is cooked as tradition to go with routine dinner, the next day is actual oil massage and hot water bath, new clothes and fire crackers.

Off late since Christmas to new year is a real holiday in the sense we have no socio-religious stuff to attend to, my husband’s side of the family has made it a tradition to meet at their family house for the year end. This is fun as all the family members turn up.

The best holiday tradition by far is the knock-out nap on Sunday.

Sri Lakshmi the goddess of material abundance

wealth is abundance.

Quickie darshan

Wealth to me is abudance.

Wealth is something that will give me choices. I will not be limited by resources.

It could be abundance in any form. The hindu mythology personifies this abundance as Goddess Lakshmi. The most popular image of Goddess Lakshmi is of abudance of material wealth. The only time she walked away from her spouse he had to borrow money from Kubera the keeper of wealth. Mankind still contributes to repay the loan.

She is described as chanchala or fickle, she will reside where ever she is invited with true heart and effort. Abundance manifests every where we only need to honour it.

To me dhanalakshmi or the Lakshmi who lives in material wealth is inspirational. Like a true vedanti I to eradicate poverty and ignorance in me both material and spiritual after all that is the lesson from the atharva veda,

“poverty and ignorances are curses of mankind. It is the duty of every human to utilize their skills to create wealth. A truly successful person is the one who creates wealth and manages it skilfully

seriously silent

True silence is the rest of the mind; it is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment. Yet at the end of the day we remember not the words of our enemies but silence of our friends!

Does silence make me uncomfortable?

When opposed to ding, noise, cacophony, no silence is great, it is a companion, nourishing and just great. The silence is more musical than any song.

There are times when I have felt that if I were to keep quiet the only complaint would be that I don’t speak but speech could lead to greater repercussions particularly with regards to interpersonal relations. Silence provides me great reprieve while think of the right answer. When I am silent no doubt I am saved being wrong, but it also deprives me the possibility of being right.

I know people who feel that silence is deafening, yes the voice of the silent one could be earthshaking.

But I do get uncomfortable if silence implies consent.

True silence is the rest of the mind; it is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment. Yet at the end of the day we remember not the words of our enemies but silence of our friends.

A cold call

A cold takes seven days to heal without medication and a week with medication.

Cure for a cold, when the temperature is low, or having no warmth like a cold water—heat it, cold day – warm clothes. If you have an skaters were cold, the uncomfortable lack of warmth then make it hot.

Remember the story of the Satyr, who was amazed when a man rubbed his palm for warmth from the cold, and blew on his burning palm to cool it?

When someone is cold like lacking passion emotion, enthusiasm, ardour etc. then the grand passion play may help, or might make sense too slink away.

Those cold replies, require colder reception.

But when it comes to the common cold, the upper respiratory disorder characterized by sneezing ,sore throat, coughing, etc. caused by an allergic reaction by a viral or bacterial or mixed infection, the remedy is a Rs.250/-consultation.

Rx

• I tell my patients to gargle with warm water adding two disprins in it. For a day three times a day . from day warm saline gargle

• Vitamin c 500 for 15 days.

• Antibiotics after culture sensitivity analysis.

• Lounges maybe I prefer the Ayurvedic Kadiraadi.

• I also distill a counter-irritant myself.

• Lots of fluids, like soup.

When it comes to self medication then it is very simple

• Hot cups of ginger tea

• Warm soups

• Pepper Rasam (a south Indian concoction which is great)

• Kadiraadi.

• Good sleep.

Lets face a common cold takes seven days to heal without medication and a week with medication.
